Administration & Training Co-ordinator

Full time 35 hours pw permanent

Are you a highly competent administrator? Can you support us at our brand new HQ?

The Edmund Trust and our sister charity Eddie’s are proud of our excellent reputations for providing support and services to children and adults with a learning disability in East Anglia.

Relocating to brand new offices, our Head Office team of around 20 senior managers and colleagues needs a highly organised and professional administrator to provide efficient and seemless support. Responsible for ensuring the training needs of around 200 staff are met; you will administer our e-learning platform, liaise with trainers, produce compliance reports and all pre/post–course administration.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced administrator to develop their skills in training co-ordination. As small, independent charities, this is an opportunity for you to make your mark and take personal responsibility in a busy office.

We are looking for Support Workers to join V’s team in Ely:

I am a young bubbly lady who lives in a shared house in Ely. I am looking for people to support me so I can have a fun and interesting life.

I really love Disney characters and also love to watch and talk about Beauty and the Beast. Other interests include Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine and many TV programs.

I love going out to the cinema, train journeys and seeing my family, I have my own car so it’s really important to me that you drive.

I love chatting and talking about the things that interest me and I am a very good teacher of sign language as this is the best way I communicate.

I need some support with bathing and looking my best and it’s really important you can follow my plans.

You will be kind and patient, good at communicating and helping me look after my house. I have a great memory and it’s important to me that you are able to remember all the things that are also important to me.

You will be confident in your style and help me get through the things I need to do in my day, this helps me feel safe and confident in you.

Can you help me stay calm when the world is crazy, or should I say crazy and confusing to me. Can you help me enjoy my life, go out and get involved in my local community.

I want staff that can help me to be part of the community in Ely, going out and doing lots of different things such as trampolining and swimming. I have my own car so my ideal staff need to be able to drive

I would really like staff who share my ethnicity, so if you are from the black/ Caribbean community I would really like to be supported by you.

You will have experience of supporting people who have epilepsy ir happy to learn how to help me.

It takes me time to get to know people, so please be patient with me. You need to be calm, and patient, and willing to follow my Support Plan as this makes me feel safe.

I need staff who are caring and will work with me in a person centred way.

I am a young Autistic man moving to a new house in Ely wanting to recruit my own staff team; I am looking for bubbly confident staff.

I am interested in cars so if you know about cars that will be a big plus.

Staff need to be creative about what we do and help me plan a busy day. If you have lots of ideas and can think creatively you are just the person to support me. I like having a go at most things and need staff to be confident to help me especially when I do new things, as this can be a scary time for me.

You will need to help me in stay in touch with my family, as they are very important to me.

I will need staff who can work flexibly and creatively to enable me to be part of my community so I can continue doing the things that I like to do and enjoy exploring new opportunities.

Getting out and about is very important to me so you will need to be a driver with a car or happy to use buses and trains.

We are recruiting Support Workers to come and work at our residential house in Chesterton.

Pauline Burnett House is a large, vibrant and happy residential home, where we support some amazing people. The people we support have learning disabilities, and some have physical disabilities, so they require aid with their mobility and require specialist equipment, which makes getting around easier.

Currently we have 9 residents who live there, and have lived there for a number of years, so it really is their home. The support we give is person centred, which means that individual personal choices are accommodated for, and respected.

D lives at Pauline Burnett House and says “I like living here, it’s a good home. I go out to a day club, and to Church every Sunday. I like being busy. I have a good keyworker who makes sure I have things I need.”

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers for our fantastic services in Histon Cambridgeshire.

The Poplars offers respite care, and gives adults with learning disabilities a chance to ‘get away from it all’ in a relaxed and supportive environment. How long they stay in their ‘home from home’ and what they choose to do in that time, is completely up to them.

Guests can participate in a range of activities during their stay, for instance, trips to the cinema, bowling or going out to local restaurants for food. We would welcome candidates who are outgoing and would be able to encourage these activities.

This service also offers working in the community with the people we support, helping them learn new skills, become more confident and have greater independence.

Senior Support Workers needed

Salary: £9.74 per hour

Location: Milton, Cambridgeshire

Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

We are recruiting 2 Senior support workers who can lead by example and direct teams in delivering high quality person centred support.

This is an exciting position and is mainly based in one team but with variation. When we are asked to support new people the senior support workers are our “superstars” who will get involved in setting up the new service.

You will be involved in developing and writing support plans, mentoring and training new staff, and establishing robust links for people we support in their local communities.

If you are passionate about getting the support right for people, can coach and mentor staff with confidence and enjoy a challenge and a change at times this could be the right job for you

We will be supporting 5 people to move into their new home and live independently, get to know the area, build up their confidence and have a great life! We are currently looking for a new team of people who will be open, honest and have a real commitment to supporting people to maximise their independent skills.

Routines, rules and boundaries are really important to getting the support right, if staff stick to them so do the people we will be supporting!

The guys moving in have a wide range of interests which include football, visiting family, cooking, cleaning, going out for meals, going to church, swimming and so much more. We are looking for people who share these interests and are proactive in helping people try new things.

It is important that you will be able to offer reassurance when people are having a bad day, you will need to be robust, not afraid of a challenge and take each day as it comes.
