Support Worker Positions

SW Jobs

“I am a fun loving, cheeky young man who is looking for people to support me so I can experience and enjoy a fun and interesting life.

Here are a few things I really enjoy; Lion King is one of my all-time favourites, I’ve seen the show many times and never tire from watching the movies. Other movie choices are across the board from Batman, Spiderman, all the Marvel, to Beauty & the Beast, Frozen, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, the list goes on!

I enjoy going out, bowling, cinema, golf at the driving range, going to the seaside, and visiting my family. I’m getting my own car so it would be great if you can drive so I can do the things I enjoy the most.

I very much enjoy chatting and talking about the things that interest me, although you will have to be patient with me as it takes longer for me to process information and to learn new skills, and tasks, so learning may need to be broken down into smaller steps. I sometimes find it difficult to explain myself, so again be patient with me. I am a healthy and able young man but need support with cooking (healthy meals), keeping up with my house chores, encouragement to shower so that I look my best always. Guidance and support when out in the community is very important for my safety.

You will need to be outgoing, young at heart, kind, patient and someone who can help to find ways to communicate and help to keep me safe and look after my house. I’m not an elephant but I have a good memory, so it’s important to me that you are able to remember all the things that are also important to me.

Be confident in your style and help me get through the things I need to do in my day.”

Support Worker Positions

The Edmund Trust is a local charity and our mission is to work across Cambridgeshire to provide lifelong opportunities for people with learning disabilities to create the lifestyle they choose and be equal and active members of the community.

The people we support and their families are at the heart of what we do. We want to empower individuals to be in control of their lives and work in partnership with their families, professionals and members of the community.

We believe in a person-centred approach where each individual makes choices about the way they live their lives and what activities they participate in. We support them to achieve their goals and aspirations. All of our support plans are tailored to the individual and regularly reviewed in partnership with others, ensuring the very best support for each individual.

If you are looking for a role where no two days are the same, e.g. Walking dogs, going bowling, swimming, teaching people how to cook, gardening, seaside visits, then please apply. We are looking to recruit Support Workers who are inventive, proactive, positive and interested in making a difference.

We are especially interested in people who have experience in supporting individuals with Autism, Down syndrome and behaviours that may challenge at times.
