We hosted another celebration in September for the 70th Anniversary in the shape of a festival. The festival was an opportunity for those to celebrate in a more informal setting the 70 years of the Trust and was led by the people we support’s suggestions. We had a variety of stalls including face tattoo which was a huge success with all that attended. We also had a smoothie stall and this also proved popular. The stall was thanks to fruit donations from the Cottenham Co-op and Erms UK which gave the people we support the opportunity to try new healthy mixes of fruit combinations and textures. Other activities included hand/nail painting, 70th special photobooth, raffle, tombola, open mic, a special appearance from the gospel choir, the Amy Winehouse experience and a dance. In addition Chief Executive John Ellis was put in the stocks with staff and people we support paying to throw a wet sponge! The festival was well attended with everyone from the people we support, families and staff to Lucy Gooding (our link worker to the LDP) all there on the day and making it an amazing atmosphere. The money raised on the day will go forward to creating more fun events in the future. Thank you to everyone who helped and came along on the day to make it such an enjoyable event. Here are a selection of photographs from the day. More are available on request.
At the Edmund Trust we provide support which is person-centred, meeting the needs and interests of the People We Support. A great example of this is below when one of our Support Workers attended Cambridge United vs Forest Green with one of the people we support on Tuesday evening. A game which Cambridge United won 3-0 and here is Fan Cam footage of their delight at two of the goals.
Thank you to everyone who attended this month’s Supper Club. Over 30 people attended and enjoyed their meal which this month was Curry.
Join us on 25th October for our Halloween Special Supper Club where the meal will be Hot Dogs and Jacket Potatoes. We will also be playing Halloween games and music.
Here are a few photo’s from September’s Supper Club.
